Paola Conte’s “Create with Music Workshop” in AAESS starts at 10:30 am on Sat., 21st Nov.

Paola Workshop3Paola Conte, Head of Music at the Al Ain English Speaking School, has confirmed the details of the “Create With Music Workshop” AAMF 2015 event.

It is a great opportunity for children to develop further their creative and thinking skills through music making.

In the ‘Foundation Stage group’ (3 to 5), drums, singing, dancing and listening activities will introduce little ones to the joy of singing and playing different instruments, as well as giving parents ideas on how to develop further their musicality at home.

In the ‘Juniors Group’ (children from 6 to 9); activities will present classical and jazz music in a fun and engaging way. Parents will learn how to develop further their children’s talents, by engaging in listening and discussing pieces of music. Children who are learning an instrument can bring it along, as there will be performing opportunities.

1st group – Age: Pre-schoolers (ages 3 to 5)
and
12:00 noon to 1:00 pm
2nd group – Age: Juniors (ages 6 – 9)

*Maximum number of 20 children per group*

    Singing songs with actions
    The importance of performing
    Rhythmic gymnastics for preschoolers
    Drumming circle

Paola Workshop1 As a musician and educator, Paola Conte believes that classical and jazz music should be enjoyed by all children in our community, and that families should be more exposed to these styles of music in a friendly setting, with pieces that are easy to understand and grab the interest of the children.

The fee for each place is AED. 80 per child; which includes the provision of the CD and brochure for this Workshop.

CREATING WITH MUSIC WORKSHOP

11:00 am to 12:00 noon – Foundation Stage (3-5 years with one accompanying adult, max 15 children)

12:00 am to 1:00 pm – Juniors group (6-9 years with one  accompanying adult, max 20 children)

As a musician and educator, Paola Conte believes that classical and jazz music should be enjoyed by all children in our community, and that families should be more exposed to these styles of music in a friendly setting, with pieces that are easy to understand and grab the interest of the children. A gifted musician and performer, Paola Conte has taught flute, piano and kindermusik for more than ten years in Al Ain. This year, her extensive research in music education has rewarded her with an MA with merit from the University of Warwick. She is now Head of Music at Al Ain English Speaking School, where she conducts the choir and instrumental ensembles, as well as preparing students for their IGCSE and A Level Cambridge music examinations.

We anticipate a strong demand for places at the CREATIVITY WITH MUSIC’ Workshop. Advice on how to apply for the limited number of places available will be posted on this webpage shortly.

New for the AAMF- Pre-schoolers’ Workshop!

Paola ConteOne of the new additions to the AAMF schedule this November will be a Pre-schoolers’ Workshop. This event will be specially designed by Paola Conte to appeal to the area’s youngest musicians and music lovers – and their parents. More details to follow soon.

Join us on a journey of discovery on Friday, 14th November!

On November 14th, join us on a journey of discovery and delightful music. Have you ever heard a clarinet laughing, a flautist playing and singing at the same time, or a saxophone growling?
Professional musicians and music educators of Al Ain will be performing a variety of pieces for recorder, flute, clarinet, saxophone and bassoon, and displaying the main features of each instrument. Children of 7 years of age and above accompanied by their parents will be our special guests for the evening. Paola Conte

This “Woodwind Evening“, organised by Paola Conte, (photo), will be hosted by the Al Ain International School. Please note the early start time of 6 pm. Doors open at 5:45 pm.

The Aubarra Clarinet Duo, (photo), will be providing the jazz element for the evening’s lively and educational programme.
