AAMF Classical Evening update

The AAMF 2019 Classical Evening is scheduled for 17th January. The venue is the Auditorium at the Brighton College Al Ain. This concert will start at 6 pm.

The performers include Natalia Nechepurenko, Ilya Netkach, Mark Glover, Derek Jung, Louise Ryan and Jennifer Eastwood.

Natalia NechepurenkoNatalia Nechepurenko is a highly skilled classical pianist. She graduated at the Donetsk State Music College and afterwards, the Music Academy, when gained her Master’s degree. Natalia has won several Ukrainian and international competitions. She has worked as a piano teacher in Ukraine and Indonesia.

Ilya Netkach1Ilya Netkach is a professional violinist and music teacher from Ukraine. As well as performing classical music, he has participated in jazz jams in different countries, too. He won the award of “Master Jam Fest” in an international jazz contest. And, in 2016 his band won first place in the “Battle of the Bands” in Bahrain.

His original music is available on iTunes and Spotify. His recent release, “I Am” has received positive reviews from “Smooth and Soul” and “All About Jazz” music reviewers . Ilya teaches at the House of Arts in Al Ain.

Mark Glover with euphoniumMark Glover is a performing artist for Sterling Musical Instruments, U.K.. Mark has worked in Singapore, where he was Principal Study Lecturer of Euphonium at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

He has performed in Brazil, the USA and many other countries in Europe and in Asia. Many listeners in these audiences had not heard the euphonium played as a solo instrument before.

Mark also spent 5 years performing in a heavy rock band as a guitarist, and he is an accomplished drummer, too. In April 2018 Mark released his debut solo album, “Hustle“.

Derek JungDerek Jung is a Music Educator now residing in the city of Abu Dhabi, after departing Al Ain last year.  After graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Music Education, he began his career teaching in the USA.

This is Derek’s fourth time participating in the Al Ain Music Festival.  In the past he has played solo pieces and played with/directed the Al Ain Chamber Orchestra.  He now sings and plays alongside the Abu Dhabi Choral Group.

Louise RyanLouise Ryan is from Cornwall in England. She has lived in the UAE for 5 years now. On graduating from a choral scholarship she went on to be accepted onto an opera performance programme.

A successful Concert and Operatic Soprano in her home country, she is enjoying performing to even more international audiences here in the UAE. She has performed on numerous occasions with the National Symphony Orchestra and Al Khubairat Singers. Louise has also been featured on Abu Dhabi Classic FM as the ‘Abu Dhabi Diva‘, informing listeners on the world of opera singing and vocal training.

Jennifer EastwoodJennifer Eastwood will be a familiar name to those who attended the AAMF 2017 “Garden City Classics” concert. For this upcoming AAMF concert she is preparing to sing “Voi Che Sapete” by Mozart.

Jennifer is a native to Vancouver, WA, USA. She attended Fresno Pacific University, graduating with a B.A. in Vocal Performance in 2007. Towards the end
of university, she attended a modeling and acting school, thus opening the door for the
entertainment business.

Since 2007, she has performed a variety of styles of music, including classical, folk, jazz, musicals, and ethereal, and in such projects as leads in musicals, operettas, short films, web-series, and stage performances. Several performances were done in the USA, until she decided to teach English abroad in 2013, where she has performed in
South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates. Jennifer was classically trained for about 10 years, and hopes you have been truly blessed by her gift of voice.

The ‘Garden City Classics’ concert begins at La Dolce Vita!

The opening concert of the AAMF 2017, the ‘Garden City Classics, was held at La Dolce Vita venue on 3rd November, 2017.

Congratulations go to Derek Jung of Al Ain Chamber Orchestra for arranging this concert’s programme, and to the AAMF Director, Teresa Murray, for all her organisational efforts!

Angelina Lynne & the ‘Garden City Jazz Band’ to open Friday’s AAMF ‘International Jazz Concert’

Angelina Lynne is a classical, pop and jazz singer, with excellent technical and language skills. She has a great deal of experience in folk music from Spain, New Zealand and other countries. She is also an accomplished piano player.

Angelina will be joined on stage at 8 pm this Friday, 27th November, at the Hili Al Rayhaan Hotel byAngelina Lynne photo I the newly formed Garden City Jazz Band. They are performing the “International Jazz Evening“‘s opening set.

Angelina’s new band members are:-

Dan Turcanu, bass guitar-
Dan is trained in classical composition and he’s already very experienced in various styles of arrangements, such as jazz and Arabian, for diverse ensembles. He is the Director of the Al Ain Chamber Orchestra, (AACO).

Derek Jung, clarinet-
Derek is a music teacher at AAESS. He studied clarinet in the U.S. and is an enthusiastic performer of chamber music and modern pieces in the AACO. He aspires to develop skills as an arranger and a composer.

Robert Loxton, clarinet-
Robert is a university teacher at the Higher College of Technologies, (HCT). He’s a very enthusiastic performer, and passionate bass singer with various vocal groups.

Teodor Iliescu, bassoon-
One of the best bassoon player’s of his generation; he is also a skilled piano player; passionate baroque music singer; and a jazz and pop voice coach.

Terrie Parkman, piano-
Terrie is the main pianist and at the core of the AACO. She’s a very dedicated pianist and an educator with years of experience. Terrie is eager to extend her artistic creativity by approaching new styles and genres.

Ahmed Attalah Medji, percussion-
Ahmed is highly talented percussionist; a self-taught musician who combines the Arabic style of percussion with pop and jazz rhythm patterns; and,

Elke Vogel Adham, flute-
Elke is a computer and programming teacher at HCT. She’s a dedicated flute player and is passionate about jazz and classical music. She inspired the creation of the AACO. Elke is also a great supporter of the AAMF!

SOLE-Agency-Sing-Revue-Full-BandThe Garden City Jazz Band‘s set will be followed by the Swing Revue Band (photo above), and then the Desert Jazz Duo (photo below); both down from Dubai for this event.
