Dana Obied joins ‘Arabian Nights’for the AAMF ‘Classical Evening’ on Thurs. 17th Jan.

img-20190115-wa0004We are very pleased to announce that Dana Obied will be singing with the ‘Arabian Nights‘ group this Thursday evening, 17th January, at Brighton College Al Ain. Their performance is one part of a packed Programme for the AAMF ‘Classical Evening.

Dana is from Sweida in Syria. She has felt a passion for music since she was little and participated in many festivals around the Syrian provinces as a member of the Syrian Youth Group representing the Higher Institute of Music.

Dana Obied sang with the Sharqi Ensemble at the AAMF 2015 ‘East Meets West‘ concert at the Rotana Hotel Al Ain.

‘Arabian Nights’ band confirmed for Thursday, 17th January

We are very pleased to announce that the Arabian Nights band have confirmed they will be performing at the AAMF 2019 Classical Evening on Thursday 17th January at the Brighton College Al Ain.

Diyaa

Diyaa Safadi

The band was founded in 2010, and since then it has been performing Arabic music on stages throughout the UAE. Its members have participated in the AAMF every year, usually on the same programme as the Al Ain Chamber Orchestra.

Diyaa Safadi is the founder and leader of the band. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus, Syria. He plays the oud and he works as a music teacher in Al Ain.

7f0b02a1-4cac-4ab3-a63d-c566f3dbae7bNaser Akowan graduated from the Higher Institute of Music in Damascus, as well. He plays violin, and also works as a private music teacher in Al Ain.

Essa LwisaEssa Lwisa forms the third side of this band’s triangle. He plays percussion. Essa holds a Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering, and he works as a laboratory instructor at the UAE University.
