“On the occasion of their second concert in the UAE, young piano shooting star Khatia Buniatishvili and violin legend Gidon Kremer have chosen to play in Al Ain, for a magnificent evening in Al Ain’s Municipality Theatre.

Jordi Savall performs in Al Ain this Wed. 25th Nov.

jordi-savall_03_wideOn Wednesday, 25th November there is going to be a most remarkable concert in Al Ain. As part of the Abu Dhabi Classics 2015/16 series, Jordi Saval and Hesperion XXI will be performing music from the time of the famous voyager, Ibn Battuta.

This venue is very familiar to AAMF supporters. Last Saturday, for example, it hosted the AAMF 2015 Workshop – ‘Creating Through Music‘ – organised by Music Teacher, Paola Conte.

Gulzar and Ajoy Chakrabarty pay tribute on Wed. 14th Oct – Municipality Theatre, Al Ain

Marat Bisengaliev arrives this Thurs, 8th Oct…

Marat-Bisengaliev2Marat Bisengaliev will perform with the Indian Symphony Orchestra at Al Ain’s Municipality Theatre this Thursday, 8th October from 8 p.m.. This is the first concert of the ‘Abu Dhabi Classics 2015/16′ series to be held in Al Ain.

He is described by “The Times” as a “brilliant violin soloist”. Marat Bisengaliev has also been designated “a Latter-day Ysaye” by the American Journal “Fanfare“.
And “The New York Times” says that “He has taken to heart a style of playing that was a hallmark of violin virtuosity early in the century, and is only now coming back into favour after several decades in the shadow of a more drily rational style”.

SOI logoMarat Bisengaliev and a number of the Indian Symphony Orchestra’s members will be providing a workshop session for school students of the Al Ain English Speaking School.

This workshop starts at 1 p.m. on this Thursday, 8th October -the same day as their concert at the Municipality Theatre.
It is expected that several hundred young students will benefit from this exposure to high calibre musicianship!

Before going into its summer break, the TCA Abu Dhabi Classics programme will once more look at the theme of the traveller, this time by focusing on the romantic metaphor of ‘the wanderer’. To do this, Abu Dhabi Classics invited the young, celebrated virtuoso pianist Bertrand Chamayou. For his second UAE concert, French pianist Chamayou, who has performed in the world’s most prestigious venues, will be playing in the Al Ain Municipality Theatre, featuring a programme inspired by his latest successful album, Wanderer, devoted to the works of one of the main composers of the Romantic era, Franz Schubert, and including his famous four-movement fantasy for solo piano, the Wanderer Fantasy.

Pianist Bertrand Chamayou to perform in Al Ain on Thursday, 28th May

Last Wednesday evening hundreds of Al Ain’s music lovers gave the Orchestra Accademia Teatro alla Scala a standing ovation in the Great Hall of the UAE University’s Crescent building. The orchestra from Milan and its terrific singers performed a fine selection of arias from Italian opera superbly!

The Abu Dhabi Classics 2014/15 season concludes with performances by the French pianist Bertrand Chamayou (above) at Manarat Al Saadiyat on May 27 and in Al Ain on Thursday, 28th May. The venue for the Al Ain concert was originally going to be Al Qattara Arts Centre. However, this classical piano recital is now likely to be transferred to the Municipality Theatre. More details will follow shortly.
