After a legendary sold-out performance at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Festival, Wynton Marsalis Ensemble returns to the UAE by popular demand, joined by a protégé from the Julliard School of Music. The nine-time GRAMMY-award and Pulitzer Prize-winning genius is the most outstanding jazz musician of his generation.
Artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, teacher, composer and educator, Marsalis’ boundless talent will make this a night to remember.

The young performers delighted their audience at Al Qattara Arts Centre last Friday evening during the AAMF’s “Young Hands & Voices” concert.
This video of another of the evening’s performances – by a violinist and pianist from Aris Castro’s class – was kindly provided by Azhar Talal…
“Was amazing .. yes young voices and hands but big talent and great hope for a future were everyone speak the universal language of music love and peace.” Azhar Talal.
Our thanks go to Azhar Talal for providing us with this evocative photo of the AAMF ‘Young Hands & Voices‘ concert at Al Qattara Arts Centre on Friday, 18th Nov. 2016.

Here is an update message from AAMF Director, Joan McEldowney, concerning the ‘Reggae Night‘ event this Friday…
We regret that Natty Wailer and the Reggae Vibes can’t make it to the gig on time! We will go ahead with our Reggae dj under the stars and bring our community together. This is a new venue in a beautiful garden. The manager wants to offer his garden space to the expat community. He worked really hard for the performance license to be granted. All pre-paid ticket money for Natty will be refunded in full. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation.
The revised price for entrance to the event will be 75% off at 50 dirhams. Food and drinks are available. This is still going to be great, the weather is so beautiful now. We have worked so hard for this festival to happen. We achieved 7 out of the 8 events. This disappointment came at the 11th hour. So sad and disappointed but the dj show will go on in the spirit of Bob Marley. Peace and love.
The final two events of the AAMF 2016 will take place this Friday, 18th November. We hope that you have enjoyed the AAMF 2016 ride so far and will come out in numbers to support the musicians again this Friday!
The venue for the ‘Young Hands & Voices‘ concert will be in the courtyard area within the Al Qattara Arts Centre complex. The stage placement is outdoors under the stars.
The Al Qattara Arts Centre’s location is featured on Google Maps at:-

Many thanks go out to the corporate sponsors of this concert!
Bawadi Mall is loaning the grand piano; the Al Ain Danat Hotel is providing cake for the performers; the Hili Al Rayhaan Hotel by Rotana is giving vouchers for the best performers; and Aldar Academies is providing the sound system, instruments, and transportation to and from the venue.
This is the kind and generous sponsorship which is so vital for this community-based music festival. Without it, this festival won’t survive!
Schools in Al Ain have submitted more applications from their student performers for the ‘Young Hands & Voices‘ concert than expected. The response level has been very strong!
In fact, the start time has now been brought forward for this concert to 5:30 pm., so that extra performers can demonstrate their talents.
The date remains the same: Friday, 18th November, and the venue is still Al Qattara Arts Centre.
Don’t miss it!
