AAMF 2017 UPDATE:-
After last Friday’s very enjoyable and well-attended “All About the Jazz!” concert at the Rotana Hotel’s Zest Garden, the Al Ain Music Festival 2017 concludes at the Danat Al Ain Resort Hotel’s Luce Restaurant this Friday, 24th November.
The Chronicles of Khan rock band will be performing ‘unplugged’ in the Danat Hotel’s Luce Italian Restaurant from 8 pm. . However, as the Luce Italian Restaurant isn’t a very large venue, we recommend that fans of rock music should take their places earlier tomorrow evening.
This will be The Chronicles of Khan debut performance in Al Ain, after their recent performances at many large festivals in their home city of Dubai, and elsewhere within the region. Don’t miss out on this rare chance to hear them play live in Al Ain!
Earlier, from 6 pm. on Friday evening, about one hundred talented young musicians from a dozen local schools will be performing at the AAMF’s “Young Hands and Voices“ concert at the Al Ain Academy‘s auditorium in Al Sarooj District. This is the second edition of this concert, which builds upon a successful beginning at Al Qattara Arts Centre last November.
This concert’s organiser, Yaremi Ledesma Alvarez, has informed us that all of the auditorium’s seats, which had been available for this concert, have now been reserved. So, it’s going to be a very full house!
Finally, if you have any photos and/or video clips of AAMF events which you would like to share with us, please feel free to post them to us via Facebook Messenger or by emailing us at:- firstname.lastname@example.org .

Midian Almeida will be performing at the AAMF ‘Acoustic Vibes!’ concert at La Dolce Vita venue on Thursday, 16th November.
Here are the biographical details from Midian’s website…
The singer, guitarist, songwriter and broadcaster Midian Almeida began her musical career in 1993, when attending music festivals and played in the Valley metropolitan region of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul.
Coming from a family of musicians, her interest for singing happened from an early age. She turned professional at the age of 18. Very soon her work attracted the journalists. She very quickly became well known in the South of Brazil with many appearances on TV programs, local radio stations and articles in newspapers and magazines.
For instance Midian participated in the programs: Official Lunch (RBS), Good Morning Rio Grande (RBS), Stage (TV COM), Studio 36 (TV COM), Radar (TVE), Zoom (Guaíba) and Patrola (RBS).
From 1998, until she had left her home country, Midian worked as the singer of the Splash band in the best night events in Southern Brazil. A year later, the singer began recording commercial jingles and advertisements for producers and agencies from all over Brazil. In 2000, Midian worked with the singer and composer Oswaldo Montenegro, in the musical “Legends of the Island“, recording solos and vocals on the eponymous album. This work, which includes theatrical interpretation, became a milestone in the career of the singer, giving her professional insight and new knowledge. From 2001 to 2005, in addition to the presentations, the artist studied music, drama and dance at the Art Institute of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. During this period of her life, she created in collaboration with other artists a NPO in order to promote the Brazilian Culture. From 2005, her voice was easily recognised as you could hear her in the most famous educational advertisement, “Education is everything“, which was inserted approximately 44,000 times in intervals of Globo TV programs and radio stations!
…The CD “A minha vez“, (in English ” my time”), was completed in the second half of 2009, through the Rouanet Law – Federal Brazilian Government, sponsored by Andreas Stihl S/A.
The release concert of the CD filled the Renaissance Theatre, in Porto Alegre, on the night of November 17, 2009; it was a great thrilling show.
Midian Almeida is one of the great voices of Brazilian popular music!
Doors open at 5:30 pm on 16th November for the AAMF ‘Acoustic Vibes!‘ concert. There is no admission charge.

Following concerts held at venues such as the Atlantis and Kempinski hotels in Dubai, and The Westin in Abu Dhabi, Midian is gradually building up a following in the UAE.
