Manfred Malzahn to perform at AAMF Acoustic Night on 31st Jan

We are very pleased to announce that Manfred Malzahn will be making his debut AAMF performance during the ‘Acoustic Night‘ concert on Thursday, 31st January. manfred-malzahn

Manfred started playing guitar as a teenager and began to perform in German and British folk clubs in the early 1970s. manfred malzahn with guitar caseHe was a member of “2+1”, “Patchwork” and “Dreirad” in Germany, “High Ground” and “The Solan Company” in Scotland, “The Living Stones” in Malawi and “Free Association” in the UAE, where he has been living since 1998.

He started writing his own songs in the 1980s; some of his lyrics were set to music and recorded by the German bands “Distant Friends”, “Blind Summit” and “Puzzlepie”. maxresdefaultHe also wrote the libretto for a musical play that was staged in Germany in the mid-1990s.

Manfred will be performing on the AAMF ‘Acoustic Night‘ at La Dolce Vita venue on Thursday, 31st January at 6 pm. This concert is free of charge.

AAMF ‘Young Hands & Voices’ concert -Saturday, 26th January

We are now looking forward to this Saturday’s AAMF ‘Young Hands & Voices concert. Yaremi Alvarez, (photo), is organising this concert for the third time. yaremi-alvarez-at-pianoStudents and teachers of Al Ain International School AKA Al Dar Academies will be performing a varied Programme.
This year, in addition to our Al Ain student’s performances, we will have the opportunity to listen to a group of music students from Dubai Newlands school , participating in Al Ain for the first time.

Special thanks go to all of the hard working music teachers that have prepared and inspired our performers, to Al Ain Academy – – for sponsoring this event; and to the team at La Dolce Vita venue for hosting us; and for always supporting music and arts in the local community.

Midian Almeida returns to the LDV on Thursday, 31st January

The Brazilian singer and guitarist Midian Almeida has been living in Al Ain since 2015. Bossa nova, samba and jazz Brazil are her main styles of music. Midian sings in both Portuguese and English.


In the last 3 years, she has performed in some of the top venues in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. And, recently, Midian was the surprise guest on the last night of Arab Fashion Week, confirming the recognition and high standing she has been granted as a performer in the Emirates.

Midian will be performing on the upcoming AAMF ‘Acoustic Night on Thursday, 31st January. This free concert will start at 6 pm. a

Dana Obied joins ‘Arabian Nights’for the AAMF ‘Classical Evening’ on Thurs. 17th Jan.

img-20190115-wa0004We are very pleased to announce that Dana Obied will be singing with the ‘Arabian Nights‘ group this Thursday evening, 17th January, at Brighton College Al Ain. Their performance is one part of a packed Programme for the AAMF ‘Classical Evening.

Dana is from Sweida in Syria. She has felt a passion for music since she was little and participated in many festivals around the Syrian provinces as a member of the Syrian Youth Group representing the Higher Institute of Music.

Dana Obied sang with the Sharqi Ensemble at the AAMF 2015 ‘East Meets West‘ concert at the Rotana Hotel Al Ain.
