A first for the AAMF 2015
Saturday, 21st of November 2015
Venue: Al Ain English Speaking School

11:00 am to 12:00 noon – Foundation Stage (3-5 years with one accompanying adult, max 15 children)

12:00 am to 1:00 pm – Juniors group (6-9 years with one  accompanying adult, max 20 children)

The Creating With Music workshop is an opportunity for children to develop further their creative and thinking skills through music making.

In the ‘Foundation Stage group’ (3 to 5), drums, singing, dancing and listening activities will introduce little ones to the joy of singing and playing different instruments, as well as giving parents ideas on how to develop further their musicality at home.

In the ‘Juniors Group‘ (children from 6 to 9); activities will present classical and jazz music in a fun and engaging way. Parents will learn how to develop further their children’s talents, by engaging in listening and discussing pieces of music. Children who are learning an instrument can bring it along, as there will be performing opportunities.

As a musician and educator, Paola Conte believes that classical and jazz music should be enjoyed by all children in our community, and that families should be more exposed to these styles of music in a friendly setting, with pieces that are easy to understand and grab the interest of the children. A gifted musician and performer, Paola Conte has taught flute, piano and kindermusik for more than ten years in Al Ain. This year, her extensive research in music education has rewarded her with an MA with merit from the University of Warwick. She is now Head of Music at Al Ain English Speaking School, where she conducts the choir and instrumental ensembles, as well as preparing students for their IGCSE and A Level Cambridge music examinations.

We anticipate a strong demand for places at the CREATIVITY WITH MUSIC’ Workshop. Advice on how to apply for the limited number of places available will be posted on this webpage shortly.
